The Turtle Racer

No Comment.. If you weren't there you would not understand. If you were? Than I don't need to explain. 

A group of Belgian Dubbers left early that mornig for an epic trip to the UK. We arrived at Dunkerque only seconds before the ship sailed ! After that a first one for me, driving on the wrong (or right) side of the road with the Turtle on the trailer ! After +/- 4hour we reached Santa Pod, and if you see this the first time ? it really is impressing.. A FIA approved track with stands for the spectators. I would like to see this in Belgium ! The organisation was extremely kind and were happy to meet us. It was a weekend not to forget, and I sure hop in 2012 I can return !

Tired but so happy ! Arrived home monday 5am, got to work 3 hours later....

The atmosphere at EBI was magic, lot's of great cars, and some serious racing. On saturday I was racing next to Stéphane Speelman and his Muppet Racer, and I must say this was an epic race ! We didn't finish 3 meters from eachother and were side by side the whole time. A very big thank you goes out to Michael Spiessens and Filip Beuckelaers who did the assistance for me the whole weekend. The guys from DBW racing team had a great party going on and we were fortunate to be a part of it. Left nothing more to say than thank you to all involved and roll on EBI 5 please....

What a weekend this was....A-WE-SO-ME ! Got my time down to 12.301 with a clutch that was slipping like hell !

My buddy Michael Spiessens of Retro Car shop secretly entered my car for the type 1 race on sunday, and we won !! He had to stay the night in his transporter on a broken inflatable bed as a punishment ;-)

This was also the first dragrace experience for my buddy Toon Van Orshaegen, who proved to be very good at his rookie runs !

Good times with good friends ! !

Now the engine is out of the car and we must get it ready for European Bug In 4 !!

First race out with the improved engine we got the time down to 12.4 sec ! Best last season was 12.8 so i'm happy !!

Slide Performance did a great job on it, so we hope to get it to a high 11 this year....

Fingers crossed we can actually achieve this !
